Welcome to Doc Loop. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you share with us. This Privacy Policy details how Doc Loop ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information across the Doc Loop Chrome extension and the web application (accessible via www.getdocloop.com).
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum necessary information to provide, maintain, and improve our services:
- Account Information: When you sign up for Doc Loop, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you authenticate using Google OAuth, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) as permitted by your Google settings.
- Workflow Content: To generate step-by-step guides, we store the screenshots, text steps, metadata, and browser interaction steps you choose to record.
- Usage Data: We may collect non-identifying technical information regarding how you interact with our extension and web app to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for the following purposes:
- To create, manage, and maintain your Doc Loop account.
- To record, format, and generate step-by-step guides from your browser workflows.
- To sync your created guides between the Chrome extension and your online dashboard.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
3. Data Storage & Security
We take data security very seriously and employ modern, robust standards to protect your data:
- Database Infrastructure: All account data, guide structures, and metadata are securely stored using Supabase.
- Private-by-Default Access: Your screenshots, workflows, and guides are stored privately. They are only accessible to you when you are authenticated, unless you explicitly choose to share a guide link with others.
- Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest.
4. Data Sharing
We do not track your browsing history or collect background usage data when you are not actively using the extension to record a guide.
5. Chrome Extension Permissions
To enable interactive guide recording, the Doc Loop Chrome extension requires specific system permissions. We only request and use permissions that are necessary for the extension to function:
6. Cookies
We use cookies strictly for authentication and session management. Cookies are only employed to keep you securely logged into your account on our web app and Chrome extension. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
7. Your Rights
You have full control over your data. You have the right to:
- Access and view all account data, guides, and screenshots stored with us.
- Edit or modify any generated step-by-step guides at any time.
- Permanently delete individual guides, screenshots, or your entire Doc Loop account. Deleting your account will permanently purge all your associated data from our servers.
8. Children's Privacy
Doc Loop is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
